WhaVe (Whales of Vestmannaeyjar) is a local non-profit organisation dedicated to understanding and protecting the biodiversity in the waters around the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago, with a particular focus on whales.

Most of our research to date has focussed on killer whales through the Icelandic orca project, but many other cetaceans including the biggest species of all, the blue whale, are found in these waters.
